This is your official sign to try one of the best GPS trackers for pets. For a limited time, you can grab the Tractive Cat Mini for under $30 during the Black Friday sale — and it’s one of our all-time favorite models!
As a cat mom of two, I’ve always been curious about what my fur friends get up to when they venture outdoors — and slightly concerned as we live near a main road. That’s why I decided to put a pet tracker to the test, but the results were not what I had expected!
If you’re thinking about getting one too, this weekend is the best time to do it, while the Black Friday cat deals are still here. I highly recommend the Tractive Cat Mini, which has been tried and approved by both me and PetsRadar's editor Georgia.

How easy is the Tractive Cat Mini to set-up?
I found the device very easy to set up and had it working in about five minutes. Each tracker comes with a unique code on the box that you need to enter into the app. Once connected, you can start tracking your pet's health and location right from your phone.
It's worth bearing in mind that you'll need to pay a monthly subscription, but this can be canceled or paused at any time, which is always good to know. Personally, I don’t plan to pay for it every single month, as that could get expensive, but I’ll definitely reactivate it when I go on vacation or feel concerned about their activity. It’s comforting to know I have the option when I need it.

Is the Tractive Cat Mini comfortable for cats?
To my surprise, my cat Chilli didn’t mind wearing it at all! He showed no signs of discomfort, as I had expected, and seemed perfectly content with it on. I love that it comes with a collar included — even better that it’s reflective and has a safety buckle — which the tracker fits onto perfectly.
What can you track on the Tractive Cat Mini?
I’ve had so much fun seeing what Chilli gets up to in his spare time. I honestly thought he would wander off for miles, but I was relieved to find that he only goes up the road and back for a little sniff around the neighbors' gardens.
The app has a section where you can view a map and watch your cat moving in real-time, which automatically turns off once they’re safely back home. This feature is so entertaining; I found it hilarious watching what he got up to!
You can also monitor how much your cat sleeps, track their minutes of activity, and receive health alerts if the app detects anything unusual. This is super handy for keeping an eye on their overall well-being and could be useful for future vet visits when this information is needed.
As a fun bonus, your cat gets ranked on a leaderboard with other cats using the tracker, which is based on how much activity they've had. It even shows their cute selfies!
