Microchip cat flaps are never this cheap! Here are 5 Black Friday deals I recommend as a pet writer and cat mom
These are the lowest prices I've ever seen for microchip cat flaps.
If you're tired of random cats entering your home, it's worth investing in one of the best microchip cat flaps. Not only do they prevent unwanted visitors from coming in and stressing out your pets, but you can also set a curfew for your kitty and be alerted about their whereabouts.
As a pet parent, I know that they're a little pricier than traditional ones. However, I truly believe that they're worth the money in the long run and an investment that can bring you and your cat some peace of mind.
This week, I've been watching the Black Friday cat deals and have spotted some incredible deals on microchip cat flaps—saving you up to 42%. So, if the price tag is the only thing holding you back, I recommend jumping on these discounts sooner rather than later before they're gone for good!
Below, I've rounded up five deals that I believe are worth your money. All of these products have earned our stamp of approval after undergoing our rigorous testing process. You can read more about how PetsRadar finds the best deals and how we test.

Why we love it: This app-controlled cat flap is one of a kind, and our tester Toby loves it. No matter where you are in the world, you can unlock or lock it, set a curfew, and monitor your cat's activity. It also sends you notifications when your pet comes in or out of the house, giving you reassurance that they're safe. Why we love it: This energy-efficient cat flap features a draft- and weatherproof brush-sealed flap with a magnetic closure, helping to keep the cold out. It offers four-way lock control and can register up to 30 cats. If your cat isn't microchipped, no worries—you can purchase one of Cat Mate's ID disks to attach to their collar. These worked really well during testing and were easy to register to my device.
Cat Mate Elite Super Selective Microchip & I.D. Disc Cat Flap
Was $110 Now $84.99 at Chewy
Why we love it: If you want insight into your cat's activity and location, this is more affordable (and basic) compared to the SureFlap Connect above. The timer allows you to set a curfew for your cat and shows you when they last went in or out. It features four-way lock control and can register up to nine cats (using either a microchip or an ID disk). However, keep in mind that the timer function only works for up to three cats. Set-up was quick—it only took me five minutes—and the instructions were super simple.
Sure Petcare SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap
Was £69.99 Now £56 at Amazon UK
Why we love it: In the words of our tester Toby, this cat flap is "reliable, robust, and simple." If you're not ready to invest in the SureFlap Connect above, this is a brilliant entry-level option that covers everything you need—just without the extra frills. It can register up to 32 microchips (or the SureFlap RFID collar tags), and flashes when it's low on battery. Toby adds that it's well-made, easy to clean and the manual lock is straightforward to use.
PetSafe Microchip Activated Cat Flap
Was £72.99 Now £42.59 at Amazon UK
Why we love it: This budget-friendly cat flap is easy to install and has magnetic closing points to stop draughts from coming in. I love that it has a low-battery indicator which ensures my cat won't get locked out if the battery dies. It has a four-way manual locking system and can be registered to 40 microchips or the PetSafe Microchip Cat Door Key.

Do vets recommend microchip cat flaps?
Do vets recommend microchip cat flaps? I asked one to find out!
Dr. Hannah Godfrey says: "I often recommend microchip cat flaps to pet owners, and I have one myself. There are a few different options depending on how much you want to/can spend, and these can help stop other cats in the neighborhood from entering your house and control your cat’s comings and goings.
"If you have more than one cat, the highest specification microchip cat flaps allow you to choose different settings for different microchips – so if one cat has an early visit to the vet the next morning and needs to be starved, you can set the cat flap to keep them inside overnight while letting the other cats out. Similarly, if there’s bad weather forecast or you’re expecting fireworks to be let off nearby, you can set the cat flap to let your cats inside and lock them in, keeping them safe."
