The bond between human and canine can be incredibly strong, with many of us considering our dogs to be our best friends. And, likewise, any dog parent knows what it’s like to have our dogs seem almost ridiculously excited to see us after we’ve been away – even if it’s just to work or school!

However, one dog in particular has gone viral on TikTok due to her reaction to seeing her mom after two days. When she works late, mom Suzie will drop Labrador Luna off with her parents to avoid leaving her at home alone for too long. And, if the TikTok video is anything to go by, Luna has plenty of fun at her grandparents’ house, with a big yard to explore (and, dare we say, plenty of the best dog toys).

How long can you leave a dog alone for? Ideally, no more than between four and six hours a day on a regular basis for adult dogs, so it’s great that Luna’s grandparents can keep her company.

Suzie dropped Luna off with her grandparents for two days, and when she came to pick her up, Luna was busy playing in the backyard with her grandpa and a ball. Suzie filmed herself walking out and calling for Luna, who stopped what she was doing in disbelief. She wrote in the caption: “The way this dog looks at me … She’s my best friend.”

Luna came running up as close as she could get to Suzie, who was on the deck a floor above. But instead of trying to get upstairs, Luna just sat below with a smile on her face. Suzie told Newsweek via TikTok, “She's always a happy girl when she sees me, or anyone that she loves!”

Unsurprisingly, TikTok users fell in love with Luna. In just a week, the video clip amassed over three million views, over 400,000 likes, and almost 500 comments. “This melts my heart. The love that animals have for their humans is priceless, beautiful,” said one commenter, while another said, “You know she loves you 'cause she's willing to leave that beautiful yard. You're a lucky doggy mommy.”

One more observed, “The way she sits so beautifully and awaits your arrival."

If you’d like to get your fix of adorable Labrador excitement, you can take a look at Suzie’s TikTok account – complete with plenty of Luna content! And, just in case there weren’t enough already, here are 32 reasons to love Labradors.
