Cat pushes dog down stairs in viral video that’s dividing the Internet
It’s Team Kitty vs. Team Canine as animal lovers struggle to reach a verdict over whether sneaky Snickers or bumbling Bailey is to blame
The moment a devious cat pushes dog down stairs has been captured in a clip that’s causing debate across the Internet as netizens divide themselves between Team Kitty and Team Canine.
In a video posted to TikTok by Queefly, an elderly Golden Retriever named Bailey is shown standing at the top of the stairs when a black and white cat named Snickers comes up behind him and with a flick of a paw causes an unsteady and unsuspecting Bailey to tumble to the bottom.
The clip, which has been viewed over 30 million times and attracted more than 5 million comments, is yet another example of the ongoing struggle between dogs and cats to cohabit peacefully.

According to Angie Bailey at Catster, the animosity between the two species can be traced back to the dawn of time and is unlikely to end any time soon.
"Dogs are descendants of naturally social wolves, while cats' ancestors are Arabian wildcats, who were known primarily to be loners," she explained. "Dogs have an instinct to chase small prey—especially if it's fleeing. It's no secret that cats typically don't enjoy being chased, even if dogs view it as a game."
Bailey explains that while dogs have an ‘in your face attitude’ and a desire to be immediate best friends with everyone they encounter, cats are far more discerning and tend to like to assess both humans and other animals before deciding if they want to extend the paw of friendship.
While a single swipe to Bailey’s right hind leg was enough to send him tumbling, netizens are divided over whether Snickers' crime was really all that serious or whether Bailey was milking it to get attention from his owner who can be heard crying ‘hey, leave her alone’ in the background.

One user named Ry said: “Cat said keep it moving granny,” with Corals.tiktok chiming in with “long live the king.” Gabby added: “THE CAT BARELY TOUCHED IT TOO LMFAOOOO,” while Myca agreed, saying: “It literally looks like she did that on purpose to get the cat in trouble.”
But not everyone is on Team Kitty, with Sweatyhands saying: “SORRY but I would never forgive that cat,” and Dexter the Balancing Dog adding: “I don’t want to come off as a bad person but that cat may just have used up all of its 9 lives.”
Regardless of whether a flick of the paw really was enough to send the senior hound tumbling or whether there was an element of dramatic theatrics, the good news is, no harm came to Bailey. Although we’re pretty sure Snickers spent the night in the dog house!
