Meet Beth and Bluebell: The newest residents of Buckingham Palace
As the pups of the late Queen Elizabeth II begin their new life with the Duke and Duchess of York, Buckingham Palace prepares to welcome Beth and Bluebell
As King Charles III and his wife Camilla begin their reign, joining them at Buckingham Palace will be their two much-loved Jack Russell Terriers, Beth and Bluebell.
Like the late Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles and Camilla are huge animal lovers and it was Camilla who adopted Beth and Bluebell from the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in London back in 2017.
In a past interview, Camilla told BBC Radio 5 Live that "The nice thing about dogs is you can sit them down, you could have a nice long conversation, you could be cross, you could be sad and they just sit looking at you wagging their tail."
Describing how Beth and Bluebell came to be a part of the family, Camilla said "Along I went to Battersea, and Beth appeared and she had just been moved from pillar to post and dumped."

"We thought it would be nice for her to have a friend. They found [Bluebell] two or three weeks later wandering about in woods, no hair on her, covered in sores, virtually dead. And they nursed her back to life and her hair grew again. She's very sweet, but a tiny bit neurotic, shall we say,” the Queen Consort explained.
While the two pups will eventually join their parents at Buckingham Palace, current ongoing renovations mean that for the time being, the foursome will continue to reside at their home of Clarence House.
Beth and Bluebell are certainly no strangers to the limelight, having posed with King Charles and Camilla for a photo to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary back in 2020.

As news spread that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are to care for the Queen's corgis at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, we warmly welcome Beth and Bluebell to Buckingham Palace and eagerly await their first public appearance in their new role as treasured companions to the King and Queen Consort.
